Information About Archives

The On-line Document Archives consist of links to databases that contain the images of documents from the files of Philip Morris USA, Inc., R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation (individually and as successor by merger to The American Tobacco Company), Lorillard Tobacco Company, The Council for Tobacco Research--U.S.A., Inc., and The Tobacco Institute, Inc. that have been produced by such entities in certain civil smoking and health cases in the United States.  As of September 30, 1999, the document archives available through this website contain the images of more than 26 million pages of documents. The available documents relate to research, manufacturing, marketing, advertising and sales of cigarettes, among other topics.

Instructions within each company's document archive will allow you to review and print these documents.  In addition, while each site was separately created and is separately maintained, this common lobby site provides information to assist the users in using all sites.
